About the Artist

Cicero dos Santos Dias (1907 -2003) was a painter of Brazilian modernism.

In 1937, he performed the scene of Serge Lifar and Villa Lobos ballet, exhibited in collective modern in New York and traveled to Paris, where he settled permanently. In Paris, he became friends with Picasso, the poet Paul Eluard, and came into contact with surrealism.
