About the Artist

Candido Portinari (1903 -1962) was a Brazilian artist.

Portinari painted nearly five thousand works of small sketches and standard ratios of paintings, such as The Coffee Farmer, to giant murals, such as War and Peace panels, presented to the UN headquarters in New York in 1956.

Portinari is considered one of the most prestigious artists from Brazil and was the Brazilian painter to achieve greater international projection.
